Originally from Wagga Wagga, Sam returned to the area after studying at LaTrobe University. A fascination in the biomechanical function of the lower limb inspired Sam to become a podiatrist, and he has a particular interest in sports injury-based rehabilitation. He finds it rewarding to be able to help people reduce pain and return to activity pain-free.
Outside of work, Sam spends time with his partner and his friends. He is looking forward to returning to the Osborne Football Club, and stays active by playing a variety of sports and running regularly. He enjoys exploring the local region, camping and hiking in the great outdoors whenever he can. View details »
Shannan always knew she wanted to work in the health industry. After beginning her studies in Health and Rehabilitation Science, Shannan developed a specific interest in podiatry due to its broad scope of practice and transferred across, graduating from CSU Albury with a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (honours).
Being a country girl at heart, Shannan wanted to work in the Riverina to give back to the local community whilst being close to family. She is excited that her first job as a podiatrist is with Active Foot Clinic, as according to Shannan they “are dedicated to providing the best possible care to their clients.”
Shannan is very passionate about living a healthy lifestyle. Growing up she was a member of representative touch and netball teams as well as representing at a state level in athletics and swimming. These days in her spare time, Shannan can be found hiking, spending time outdoors, brunching with friends and playing netball for MCUE.
Shannan has a particular interest in sports and paediatric biomechanics, while also enjoying assisting with chronic disease management, particularly people who have diabetes and lectures in Paediatrics at Charles Sturt University.
Shannan says, “people often underestimate the importance of their feet and don’t realise how foot health contributes to a healthy happy lifestyle. As a podiatrist I am able to have a positive effect on someone’s life by ensuring that their feet and legs are as healthy as possible.” Our Podiatrist, Shannon, is currently offering her services in Wagga Wagga, Leeton and Gundagai. Hailing from the city of churches, Marie attained her Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of South Australia. Over the 16 years she has been practising podiatry, Marie has gained experience in a wide variety of podiatry settings ranging from high risk/diabetic foot focussed departments of public hospitals to private clinics.
In 2015, Marie moved to Wagga Wagga with her now husband Matt, and also has some immediate family living locally. Marie is heavily involved in the MCUE football/netball club, reflecting that this is where she has gained the most comprehensive insight into regional living and the wonderful people that make the community so special.
Marie always had a keen interest in sport and helping people. Having experienced a lot of sporting injuries herself, and many sport injuries are lower limb related, she enjoys the opportunity being a podiatrist affords her to help others with similar afflictions. She takes great pleasure in helping athletes get back to their sports as soon as safely possible.
Her passion for helping others transfers to helping kids. “I hate to see kids having to sit on the side lines and not get involved because of a problem that is treatable.” says Marie.
Marie is a Senior Podiatrist & Shoe expert offering services in Wagga Wagga & Leeton. View details »
