Vanessa is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with over 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industry and more than three years of clinical exercise physiology practice. She holds a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology from Charles Sturt University. Vanessa has worked across private hospital, community, and private practice settings, supporting individuals with musculoskeletal pathologies, neurological conditions, cardiovascular, respiratory / pulmonary, metabolic and renal conditions, cancer, and mental health conditions. In line with the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) scope of practice, she provides comprehensive clinical assessments, risk stratification, and evidence-based exercise prescription to assist in the prevention and management of chronic disease and injury. She is also approved to work with Workers Compensation and NDIS clients, supporting individuals through structured rehabilitation and return-to-function programs. Vanessa has extensive experience in Clinical Pilates, with more than 10 years of experience teaching both mat and equipment-based Pilates. She integrates Pilates-based techniques into exercise therapy to improve core strength, posture, stability, mobility and movement control. She also has a strong interest in rehabilitation post-surgery, helping individuals improve strength and balance to reduce falls risk and targeting exercise programs designed to improve bone density and maintain independence. B. App Sc (Physiotherapy) Alex is a director and co-owner of Pittwater Physiotherapy. He completed his training at the University of Sydney and has been providing his professional physiotherapy services to the Northern Beaches community for the last 19 years. He is a clinical educator for physiotherapy students undergoing study at both Sydney University and Australian Catholic University and a certified State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) approved practitioner in NSW. He is also affiliated with Sports Medicine Australia and the Musculoskeletal, Sports and Business National Groups of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Alex is a hands-on physiotherapist who practices the Maitland and Mulligan’s manipulative therapy and mobilisation techniques. He also treats with The McKenzie Method and integrates Muscle Energy Techniques and Myofascial Release while complementing his treatments with a variety of sports taping techniques, acupuncture or dry needling. Alex is a firm believer of injury prevention and will prescribe specific short- and long-term tailored exercise programs that are appropriately centred around his patients’ individual goals and needs to minimise the risk of re-injury.
