Nicky Rolls graduated from the University of Queensland in 1991 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. Following both private and hospital work in Australia, Nicky worked as a physiotherapist in the United States for 8 years in the areas of private practice and orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation. Upon returning to Australia, Nicky completed both her Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy Masters qualifications at the University of Queensland in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Since this time, Nicky has worked in both private practice and as a clinical and practical tutor at the University of Queensland and the Australian Catholic University. Nicky has provided Sports Physiotherapy coverage for Tennis Australia, the Alice Springs Masters Games, Queensland and national Judo Championships, Cross-fit Games, the Australian Women’s Handball team and Queensland Touch Football Championships. Nicky has extensive experience treating neck and back pain and has participated in University of Queensland clinical trials, as a treating clinician, for carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, patellofemoral pain and whiplash associated disorders. A high-level cycling and triathlon background gives Nicky excellent insight into the demands of managing injuries and rehabilitation whilst continuing to train and compete. Nicky currently competes as an A grade women’s cyclist, has come 2nd at the World Masters GranFondo Championships and has been the National Masters Women’s Champion for road and criterium 5 x each.
