Ben started his working life working at an aged care facility doing exercise classes and physio programs. From there, he felt compelled to study podiatry and completed his degree through the University of Newcastle. Ben has found his greatest area of interest is in paediatrics and biomechanics, helping people maintain fitness levels or return to sport, especially keeping kids in sport.
In the past Ben has been involved in Rugby Union, Rugby League, amateur boxing and Brazilian Ju Jitsu. More recently, with a beautiful wife and 2 awesome boys at home, Ben’s spare time is spent bushwalking, going to parks, playing ninja turtles and attending kids sport.
Of the importance of podiatry, Ben says, “people seem to undervalue their feet until there is a problem with them and then they see how valuable healthy feet are.” Ben is one of a number of friendly, professional podiatrists in Wagga Wagga, Tumut and Leeton, contact us and find out how we can help you. Sophie is a local Wagga girl, growing up on the family farm between Mangoplah and Cookardinia. She attended CSU in Albury and studied a bachelor of Podiatric Medicine. Sophie says she chose to be a podiatrist “Being a podiatrist means that I can help people who are suffering from a great deal of pain who are limited to daily activities. If I can help them and improve their quality of life then that is very special and rewarding to me.”
Active Foot Clinic is Sophie’s first place of work as a podiatrist. She is loving the opportunities being a podiatrist gives her, including the opportunity to see people leave her room feeling better than when they came in.

Originally from South Africa, Janie and her family relocated to Australia during her early teens where they then settled in Mildura. It was during her work experience in year 10, that Janie found a particular interest in podiatry. From there she studied a Bachelor of Podiatry at the University of Newcastle, completing her studies at the end of 2023. Janie is interested in all aspects of podiatry from complex biomechanical patients to nail care and corn removal.
Janie decided to join the Active Foot Clinic team due to the ability to work with a large, supportive team of experienced podiatrists and is excited for the opportunities available to grow as a practitioner. She has always wanted to move back to a regional area after completing her studies and was drawn to Wagga Wagga and the small towns of the Riverina. Away from podiatry Janie enjoys spending time with her friends, swimming and going for long walks. View details »
