Karen Goncalves has over 21 years experience as a physiotherapist. She trained in
Canada, graduating from the University of British Columbia. She has worked in
Australia for the past 15 years in Private Practice treating a wide variety of
musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Karen is a hands on Physio, who uses a
combination of Manual therapy and exercise in her treatments. In addition, Karen also is
qualified in Dry Needling. Karen has a special interest in pelvic/hip disorders, lower limb
biomechanics, and shoulder imbalance/overuse disorders.
Throughout her years as a Physiotherapist Karen has worked with the Canadian Junior
Women’s rugby team, and Queensland Junior Volleyball teams. Karen was a former high
level Volleyball player in the NCAA in America, and CIS in Canada. She now prefers to
spend her time surfing, mountain biking, and participating in the occasional recreational
