Dietitian

After graduating, I spent the following five years working as a clinical dietitian in various metropolitan Melbourne hospitals and 12 months in the UK. This included experience in oncology, renal, gastroenterology, nutrition support and cardiac units. On my return to Australia I commenced my PhD at Monash University, Box Hill Hospital, with scholarship support from the Menzies Foundation. My thesis, entitled “The Role of FODMAPs in Gastrointestinal Disorders”, examined dietary triggers for gastrointestinal conditions. The specialists that I worked alongside during my research were desperate for effective, dietary strategies for their clients, many of whom had experienced gastrointestinal symptoms on a long term basis. As a result, Diet Solutions was established in 2006. View details »

Dietitian

Since entering the dietetics field, I have been fascinated by the intricacies of the gut microbiome, the bugs in our gut are what sparked my interest in gastrointestinal health. My experience in the gastrointestinal nutrition field allows me to support clients with the spoken and unspoken challenges with food intolerances, allergies, ongoing gastrointestinal concerns and more. On top of promoting a healthy gut, I am also passionate about helping clients nurture a positive relationship with food and their bodies. I like to remind people that guilt has no place on the table, food and satisfaction do. View details »

Dietitian

I graduated from Deakin University in 2008 and subsequently worked in a range of clinical dietetic roles including rural, metropolitan clinical (St Vincent’s Hospital), community health and private practice. I first joined the wonderful team at Diet Solutions in 2010. After working as a dietitian for 4 years I decided to start my PhD and joined the research team at the Department of Gastroenterology, Monash university, based at the Alfred Hospital. My PhD was entitled “Adjunct therapy to the low FODMAP dietary approach for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)”. Throughout my PhD I continued to work at Diet Solutions and St Vincent’s hospital. Following my PhD I was fortunate to move to Kingston, Canada and conduct a 2-yearpost-doctoral fellowship at the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Unit at Queen’s University. During this time I was able to conduct a number of research studies that looked mechanistically at the role of diet in gastrointestinal conditions and practically at the translation of dietary interventions in practice. I am now a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nursing and Allied Health at Swinburne University. My research focuses on nutrition intervention in patients with gastrointestinal conditions and food intolerance. View details »
